Depending upon your computer's operating system, here are some helpful links to resources, references and files if you had problems viewing the test webcast.

Requirements for Viewing a Mediasite Webcast:
  • Windows
    • Windows 95 or later
    • Compatible Browser:
      • Internet Explorer 5.0 or later
      • Firefox 1.0 or later (plug-in may be required and is OK to download and install when prompted)
    • Windows Media Player 6.4 or later (plus codec updates if required)
  • Mac
    • Mac OS X
    • Compatible Browser:
      • Safari 2.0 or later
      • Firefox 1.0 or later
      • Camino 1.0 or later
    • Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X
Windows XP, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows 98 SE (Second Edition)
Processor 233 MHz Pentium II or AMD equivalent minimum, 500 MHz recommended
RAM 64 megabytes minimum, 128 megabytes recommended
Free hard disk space 100 megabytes
Sound card 16 bit sound card
Video Super VGA (800x600) or better

Windows 98 (prior to final "Second Edition")

Processor 166 MHz Pentium or AMD equivalent minimum, 266 MHz recommended
RAM 32 megabytes minimum, 64 megabytes recommended
Sound card 16 bit sound card
Video 256 color video card minimum, 24 bit true color video card recommended

Processor 90 MHz Pentium or AMD equivalent minimum, 120 MHz recommended
RAM 16 megabytes minimum, 32 megabytes recommended

Video 16 color video card minimum, 256 color display card or better recommended

Network Setup

For workstations to be able to view presentations broadcast from DOA you must:

  • Ensure that ports 80 TCP and 1755 UDP/TCP are open to media1.wi.gov and media2.wi.gov
  • Workstations must be able to resolve the DNS name media1.wi.gov and media2.wi.gov
